Week 16. 9th – 13th June

The power cable has been laid up to the power pole and it awaits to be run up the pole and connected to the main three phase supply

The power cable has been laid into the trench around the play area and into a hole where it will be connected to the smaller cable run through the pipe into the meter box

The smaller power cable has been pushed through the pipe into the meter box and awaits to be connected to the fuse holders

The cable has been covered with soil and then a plastic warning tape laid on top. This is to warn anyone that digs in that area that there is a power cable under this warning tape

The last gang-nailed roof rafters being lifted onto the roof area above the store and kitchen rooms and fixed into position

Work has started to in-fill the dug out trench and re-instate the grass surface. The majority of the soil is now in the trench and another day is required to tidy up the play area and make it safe for the children to use

The two different sized cables are jointed together to give the pavilion a reliable power supply

The completed joint is awaiting filling with resin after the cable is connected at the pole and the supply is tested

The power cable is terminated in the 3 phase fuse holder in the meter box. The meter was then installed and connected via a temporary “Builders supply” to give the contractor access to power

Progress on the West wall has been slow due to other work, this has now changed. Note the inclusion in the wall of the strip of lead flashing that will make the canopy waterproof when it is erected

The trench has been completely filled in and the turf relaid over most of the trench.

The relaying of the turf over the trench is now completely finished and the children’s play area is fully open

The west wall keeps growing as they are now doing the gable end flint-work
